Basically won a couple of small pots, plus a medium pot where I flopped 2 pair with JTs.

Opponent in this hand was a maniac. On an earlier hand I saw him minraise w/ KTo after 2 EP limpers, then push all in on a Q high flop (no draw) after one of the limpers leads enough to pot commit himself to the hand. When he puts me all in on the flop I’m not really sure what he has since he has been so erratic, but I can’t fold against a player like this here, especially with the flush draw. Turns out he had me outkicked, but even still I’m 50% to win the hand with my 12 outs twice.

Level 6: 200/400

This guy was another lunatic. He had been at the table for maybe 2 orbits & I had already seen him open raise all in for 25BB twice. What does a minraise from EP mean from this guy? I have no clue, but he makes it real cheap for me to see a flop with connected cards, so I call PF. When he pushes the flop I can’t really tell what he has. . . sometimes this is AK/AQ, sometimes it’s a medium pair. I really feel like this big overbet means he doesn’t want me to call & I think my pair of 5’s might be good. If not, I have outs with the open ender. Turns out he has one of the worst hands I could see. 77 takes away my 4 for 2 pair outs & takes away 2 of my straight outs. I crank up the power on my luckbox & win the 30/70. This is the only real suckout I have the entire tourney (except for the final hand).

Level 7: 300/600

I lose a big hand with TT against BB’s AKo in a blind battle in which we got it all-in PF. That takes me from 22k to 13k.

Level 8: 400/800 w/ 25a


I’m pretty active this level. We’re approaching the bubble & I try to be a little more agro PF. I win a pot with AQ vs A4 when I call a short stack’s desperation push. Then I lose a pot with AK when I whiff the flop & am faced with a big bet from a loose/passive player. I end the level at 10994.


Level 9: 600/1200 w/ 50a

We start this level with 124 players. The money starts at 100, so this is the beginning of the bubble. I’m a below average stack with slightly above average stacks around me, so hard to apply bubble pressure since they can lose an all-in to me & still make the money. Plus a couple of other players at the table have ramped up their aggression, so I end up with zero stealing opportunities & I’m card dead this level. After a while it looks like I’m going to have to settle for one of the first payouts. . . I get my stack down to ~6500 & I’m starting to just hope for a couple more players to bust so I can make the $160 for 100th.
Last hand of the level I get to check in the BB w/ 56o & make a pair of 5’s. That brings me to 9894 with only a couple more to go before the bubble breaks.


Level 10: 800/1600 w/ 50a

The bubble breaks 3 hands into the level.
After that I get AA in the BB & double against the SB’s all-in steal with J9o. That brings me to 17788. 4 hands later I get AA again. I somehow convince an EP player with KJs to double me up again. All of a sudden I’m up to 36k with the average being around 25k.

4 hands later I get AA again (yes again). Unfortunately I just take down the blinds with it. Very next hand. . . QQ. I reraise preflop against an active, aggressive EP raiser& he folds.

I end the level at 44000.


Level 11: 1000/2000 w/ 75a


BB calls my PF raise here, then leads out with a min bet. This looks really strange & generally either means he hit a huge hand & wants me to raise, or that he has something weak & wants to know where he stands. I decide to raise, then shut down if he calls. He doesn’t .

I then lose a resteal where SB opens into my BB for 6k, I reraise all-in w/ A4s. He surprises me & calls with A6s. That brings me from 58k to 37k.


The opponent in this next hand was very active PF, making a lot of small PF raises, followed by c-bets. I figured this could be a scary flop for his range. I wouldn’t do this against a more conservative player.
